ASA AND ISA ANNOUNCE 2024 BOARD ELECTIONS

The American Soybean Association (ASA) is now accepting applications for two director positions, and the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) is seeking qualified candidates to fill board seats representing six districts. ASA and ISA board members serve a term of three years and are eligible for three total terms.

ISA TO GROW AND DEVELOP LIVESTOCK MARKETS TO INCREASE SOY DEMAND

ISA Domestic Markets Manager Tim Rendall was recently featured on RFD-TV, where he explained how the Illinois Livestock Development Group (ILDG) came to be, how the partnership will benefit Illinois soybean farmers, and their top priorities.

LEARNING FROM THE INTEGRATION OF SOIL HEALTH, WATER QUALITY AND CLIMATE-SMART AG

Dr. Andrew Margenot is leading a multi-year, ISA checkoff-funded project that is benchmarking tillage and cover crop effects on soil health and water quality. The results will inform farmers about tradeoffs among soil health, carbon credits, and water quality.

ILLINOIS LEGISLATORS VISIT SOYBEAN FARM

Senator Mike Halpin and Rep. Gregg Johnson recently visited the farm of ISA Board Director Dwayne Anderson. Dwayne provided a tour of his farming operation and highlighted his no-till conservation approach. The group also discussed topics such as Illinois estate tax reform and wetlands legislation.
