Award recognizes their commitment to the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA), as well as their demonstrated impact in the agricultural industry and their community
BLOOMINGTON, ILL., (November 29, 2023) – Father-daughter duo, Matthew Clavin and Leanne Casner of Rosamond, Illinois, were recently named Illinois Soybean Farm Family of the Year by the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA). This award recognizes an Illinois farm family who is actively engaged in ISA’s membership program, along with showing commitment to ISA programming and with demonstrated impact in our industry and in their communities.
“Both Leanne and Matthew are passionate about educating others about agriculture and go out of their way to share facts about life on a dairy farm and why they milk cows,” said John Lumpe, CEO of the Illinois Soybean Association. “Their efforts have had a profound impact on their community and the Illinois agriculture industry. We are thrilled to recognize them as this year’s Illinois Soybean Farm Family of the Year.”
Casner and Clavin help run their family’s Clavin Dairy Farm near Rosamond, Illinois. They also welcome visitors wanting to learn more about dairy farming, hosting several tours of their dairy farm per year for educational purposes. In addition to the farm tours, Casner also started a Facebook page called “Daily Dose of Dairy,” where she addresses consumers’ concerns about antibiotic and hormone use, animal care, nutrition and more.
Casner and Clavin were recognized at the Illinois Soybean Association’s Impact Awards Banquet on November 28 in Bloomington. To learn more about the Illinois Soybean Association, visit ilsoy.org.
