The American Soybean Association (ASA) is now accepting applications for two director positions. Interested applicants should apply by July 14, 2023. Additionally, the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) is seeking qualified candidates to fill six board seats that are up for election this year. To be placed on the ballot, petitions must be completed by May 15, 2023.

This week, Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG) directors and staff traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with members of the Illinois delegation to promote ISG legislative priorities which include the 2023 Farm Bill, the importance of inland waterways improvements, biofuels, and other issues that impact Illinois farmers.

Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG) hosted a Lobby Day Event with the Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association on Wednesday, March 22 in Springfield, Ill. This event provided the opportunity for ISG members to highlight agricultural priorities in Illinois while meeting state legislators.

The Illinois Soybean Association has named its ILSoyAdvisor Soy Envoy class for the 2023 growing season. The ILSoyAdvisor Soy Envoy program has expanded to include agronomy experts from across the state, including crop consultants, industry professionals, and a research student who will be providing local recommendations throughout the season to Illinois farmers.

Leadership from the Illinois Soybean Association is representing the Illinois soy family at Commodity Classic in Orlando, Florida this week, attending meetings, touring trade show exhibits, and visiting with members of ag media. During their annual meeting, which is held in conjunction with Commodity Classic, the U.S. Soybean Export Council elected ASA Board Director and Illinois farmer leader, Stan Born of Lovington, Illinois as Chairman for the upcoming 12-month term.
