BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – MAY 15, 2023 – The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) and Midwest Dairy are proud to present the Taste of Farm Life at the Clavin Dairy Farm on June 10th in Rosamond, Ill.
“Midwest Dairy is proud to partner with ISA and Clavin Dairy Farm to bring families together to showcase farm life on just one of Illinois’ many family-owned farms,” says Kendra Anderson, Illinois Farmer Relations Manager for Midwest Dairy. “We hope this event will increase farm awareness for non-ag families, and help to grow appreciation for Illinois farmers’ contributions to the global food chain.”
Guests are encouraged to bring the whole family for tours, food, and fun while they experience what farm life is all about. Activities will include milking a cow, learning more about what goes into dairy cow nutrition, and experiencing firsthand what it takes to run an Illinois farm.
“Clavin Dairy Farms is a family-owned farm, like 96% of all farms in Illinois,” says Anderson. “I think there are some misconceptions about farms being owned by corporate entities. Sure farming has changed and evolved, but the vast majority of farms are still owned by the families who’ve managed them for generations.”
The Taste of Farm Life will take place from noon until 3pm. It is free to attend, and lunch will be provided as well as accessibility parking. Please RSVP here.
The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) checkoff and membership programs represent more than 43,000 soybean farmers in Illinois. The checkoff funds market development, soybean production and government relations efforts, while the membership program, Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG) and the Illinois Soybean Growers PAC actively advocates for positive and impactful legislation for farmers at local, state and national levels. ISA upholds the interests of Illinois soybean farmers through promotion, advocacy, research and education with the vision of becoming a trusted partner of Illinois soybean farmers to ensure their profitability now and for future generations.
