The livestock industry is the number one consumer of domestic soybean meal, with the top consumers being poultry and swine. If you are familiar with the livestock industry, many times production agriculture and the junior livestock industry look a bit different, but they truly work together. Not only do they include the same animals, but they more importantly both depend on strong people to keep the industry rolling.
Where does this start?
Simple, the youth of America. 4H and FFA are arguably two of the best organizations to raise strong leaders who want a better tomorrow for American agriculture.
The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) is proud to be a familiar face in these arenas, and recently supported youth at the Peoria County 4H Auction through Peoria County Corn & Soy Promotors Club. Our Market Development team was proud to represent ISA through this avenue, and with Peoria County Corn & Soy, was excited to support three different youth with their swine and poultry projects.
Although production agriculture is responsible for feeding America, 4H and FFA are raising the next generation of professionals in these spaces, and we are proud to support animal agriculture in this way.
