ISA AGRONOMISTS REFLECT ON 2024 FIELD DAYS AND GROWING SEASON

The ISA Agronomy team shared information with Illinois farmers this summer through their On-Farm Field Days. In Monday’s Agribusiness Today segment, ISA Director of Agronomy Abigail Peterson, CCA, highlighted the importance of the field days and provided an overview of soybean conditions in Illinois.

ISAP DEVELOPS FINANCIAL INCENTIVE DATABASE

The Illinois Sustainable Ag Partnership (ISAP) recently released the Financial Incentives Database, or FIND Tool, which includes information for over 60 financial incentive programs available to Illinois farmers who want to implement conservation practices.

ILLINOIS GRAIN TOUR HOSTS INTERNATIONAL BUYERS FROM NINE COUNTRIES

This week, the Illinois Department of Agriculture hosted 31 international buyers from nine different countries as part of a four-day tour. On Tuesday, the group visited the ISA Bloomington office for a briefing from the ISA Market Development team on soy exports and the advantages of U.S. soy.

RED CROWN ROT AWARENESS INCREASING IN ILLINOIS

ISA Outreach Agronomist Stephanie Porter, CCA, recently reported to Brownfield Ag News that more Illinois farmers are finding red crown rot in their fields, which is why ISA is partnering with the University of Illinois plant clinic to offer free testing to any farmers who suspect their field is infected.

For the most part, crop farming is the same across the country, but there are distinctions depending on the crop and the geographical location. This Science for Success project is looking at desiccants, or harvest aids, to improve yield in the South and determine if they are feasible to use in the North.
